The Management

Margherita "Marge" R. Cunningham, R.P.R., L.S.R.
President and Chief Executive Officer

Marge founded The Cunningham Group, Inc., in 1965, foreseeing the critical role technology would play in the evolution of the legal services industry.

Her company was the first court reporting firm in Connecticut to use computers for producing verbatim transcripts. She funded programmers to write software to convert proprietary transcript outputs to standard formats, thereby making it practical for law firms to utilize PC's and mainframes for transcript and document management. She is credited with introducing realtime court reporting to attorneys and CART (Computer Aided Real Time) service to the hearing impaired community. Her company partnered with the federal court in a pilot project to utilize and test videography for reporting trial proceedings and producing transcripts.

Marge co-founded Reporters Cooperative, Inc. (now Depospan) in 1984, a nationwide network of independent court reporting firms; established The Cunningham School of Court Reporting in 1988 (now operating at Stone Academy in Hamden, Connecticut); and, has represented the industry at professional conferences throughout the United States and Europe.

Marge sold The Cunningham Group in 2002 and became Director of The Father Gengras Center for Justice for People with Developmental Disabilities. In 2006 she joined United Reporters, Inc., as President and Chief Executive Officer.
